When a tooth becomes painful, or infected, or the nerve inside of it dies, a root canal treatment is often necessary for that tooth to survive.
Dr Max Turner is our dentist with a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatments and more). This means he has additional training, skills and experience that enables him to treat routine cases more simply whilst also being able to treat more complex cases often referred to other practices. With the help of a high-tech dental microscope, your root canal treatment is in safe hands.
Max has treated many patients over the years that previously thought they would not be able to tolerate treatment. In fact, patients are often so relaxed that they regularly fall asleep in the chair during root canal treatment.

The procedure: during root canal treatment, the infected spaces inside the roots of the tooth are carefully cleaned and filled in order to maintain a pain-free tooth in your mouth. The procedure itself will not cause you discomfort and can last between 30 and 90 minutes depending on complexity, with regular breaks as you require to maintain your comfort. You can usually eat straightaway. Occasionally painkillers are advised following treatment for a short time.
